And the loser is. . .

News Update:
-Kansas is a state. (True in fact, it is a state, despite the confusion this may cause.) If someone calls into your work asking what state you are located in , and you say Kansas, and they then say "Yes, but what state is that?", and you say Kansas, and they ask again what state you are in, and you say Kansas, and they ask what state would that be, and you say Kansas, just know that you have been correct every time.

Roommate Battle-
We have now tallied the votes, and we shall tell you what the outcome is in just a second, because we really haven't tallied anything yet, and we need to go do that. Hold on. . now we have counted the votes, and the winner of Roommate Battle: Splenda vs. Sugar is:
Sugar with 26 votes
while Splenda only got 13.
Katie, do you want to say anything about your victory?
Just that I would like to thank my supporters for knowing the truth and speaking it.
Would you like to say anything about the rumors that Brett is going to buy you a Splenda drink even though you've won the battle?
Just let him remember that half the power of his Triumph Point is in my hands.
I would like to thank those who tried to boost Splenda to a victory, even though we lost. Long days and pleasant nights.

On TV:
-In case you are missing it, the history channel (55 to those of us in Shawnee, Kansas [the state]), is airing a very enlightening documentary called High Hitler, which argues that "drug dependence may have played a role in Adolf Hitler's decisions". We have now changed the channel.
-Tomorrow night the new Top Chef starts. We will not be watching it because we will be helping Martha pack their belongings from their old home, so that she and Nick can take their stuff with them to their new home.

Coming soon: A story for you to read, nice weather (72 tomorrow), a tour of our home that includes our favorite spots and features, and Royals baseball.

Also, if you've never posted a comment, because you didn't want to make an account, we've set it up so you can now comment without one. Sorry, we thought it was like that already.

I feel like my life has been simplified. Poison will now stay in the realm of indigestibles and I do not have to worry about paint......for now.......{

I am not accepting the results of this vote. There was multiple voting and subverting other's right to vote. I will buy the drink treat only after a fair election monitored by UN officials. My honor over my triumph!

Hold on, hold on. Based on my voting scheme from yesterday, in which I declared a number of votes for Splenda one greater than the total number of votes for sugar, the tally should be 27 higher. Which means Splenda should win out 40 to 26. There were no rules about voting formulaicly, or based on projected numbers. Just as multiple votes by a person should be counted, so should a formula be counted. I cry foul.

I also call for outside intervention in this election process. But not by the UN. I don't trust any organizations that corrupt. I propose the UP, the United Planets steps in and gives oversight.

Also, and this is even more important, it seems that many of the votes cast for sugar were actually cast for Corn Syrup while thinking they were cast for sugar. It is very difficult to find drinks in this country with sugar, as the corn lobby has been able to get congress to raise tariffs on sugar, and subsidize corn farmers. I call for a new vote with more honest choices. Corn Syrup vs. Splenda.

Well, perhaps those of us who lost should gather and go get some tasty splenda drink treats anyway.

i like sugar and not splenda in tea and coffee and i like cane sugar instead of other things in cola. my vote stands as a legitimate vote for sugar and not for corn syrup (since i have to drink diet drinks anyways cuz that's what we gets for timothy and he shops more)

For the person who kept asking what state you were in, maybe saying the state of Kansas where Dorothy was from? Everyone knows that Dorothy Gale was from Kansas and so was Superman.

dextrose (glucose), fructose
Dextrose (also known as glucose or "corn sugar") and fructose ("fruit sugar") are simple sugars that are often made from corn. Dextrose is used in a variety of foods, including cookies, ice cream and sports drinks such as Gatorade. It also shows up in prepared foods that are supposed to come out crispy, such as french fries, fish sticks, and potato puffs. It's common in intravenous solutions, which could be quite dangerous. Fructose is usually seen in the form of high fructose corn syrup, but makes an occasional appearance on its own.

Corn syrup is made from sugar. Splenda is not. Splenda is an abomination.

Sadly I refrained from continuing the Splenda/Sugar fiasco when it became a fiasco.

I figured my vote counted one, no matter how many times I voted, not the New York, NY or Chicago, "Vote early and vote often." scenario. I allude to and support my "brett" colleague's reference to multiple voting.

However, when it became a discussion of "to PC or NOT to PC" the tone became too much like politics and since I hate politics as much as I do new car sales venues (dealers, etc.), I could not in good conscience continue what trivially seemed to be a life and death discussion (sugar vs. splenda), but had degenerated into "who cares" discussion, i.e. "I can list more inaccurate data than you can!" . . . which interestingly (not) is per the whole global warming venue and other non intellectual debates that are so important to the foundation of America today.

By "inaccurate" data I refer to using foreign countries as sources for truth as well as using findings which were multiple and varied in conclusion to represent a falsely represented singular conclusion. I here reference and support my "timothy" colleague's reference to the immoral combining of corn syrup data with refined sugar, as well as with natural sugars which should be viewed as multiple sources in and of themselves.

It is only my opinion, but I think "katie" should come clean and take the difficult, but more intellectually credible position of identifying WHICH sugar she represents and wholly embrace a specific product and let the chips fall where they may rather than slip back and forth between calling for a 'sugar' vote, but actually meaning a "refined" sugar vote, which dramatically skewed the results as well as her conclusions.

And to be truly PC I think part of the debate should allow for the "nothing" vote, for in this venue of sweeteners a "nothing" vote is NOT a vote for anarchy, but truly for a healthful focus or apathy depending on your point of view.

I might remind refined sugar advocates that this product has been deemed a 'regulated substance' by the FDA by reason of the drug like induced symptoms imbibers of said product demonstrate in laboratory analysis.

I also remind readers that 76% of all statistics cited and references quoted are made up by the writer on the spot.

I personally like sugar (cane and beet) and honey (in tea). But have been known to use sweet and low, stevia and spenda. Non of them are good in huge amounts. Sweet and low will give one cancer if one drinks 800 sodas a day. So don't drink 800 sodas a day.

In response to Mr. Timothy's objection that the question was ill phrased due to the corn syrup vs sugar content of non-splendified sodas, I say that my vote was legitimately against Splenda and any other ucky pseudo-sugar formulated diet agents, not necessarily for the actual "sugar." I find corn syrup more acceptable than not, though it be bad for me. Taste! Also, my best friend is allergic to Splenda, so there's got to be something wrong with it... 'course, in fairness, I should mention that her sister is allergic to corn.

Also, thanks for freeing up the comment options, since I do not maintain a blogspot.
